Surface Reference Data Center (SRDC)

Data Archive

The SRDC web site is being migrated to a new server. Improved access to data and products is one of the goals of this move.

The Comprehensive Pacific Rainfall Database (PACRAIN) is one of the core SRDC datasets and is used to produce the 2.5 x 2.5 degree monthly products. You may submit a customized data request or view the latest quality analysis report.

Another core dataset is the Oklahoma Mesonet archive, which is used to produce the 1.0 x 1.0 degree daily products. Oklahoma Mesonet data is only available via subscription or formal collaboration with EVAC.

Of historical interest is Taylor's Atlas, a comprehensive collection of Pacific rainfall records going back the the early 1900's in some cases.

Gridded rainfall data and error statistics are available for

2.5 x 2.5 degree monthly, gridded rainfall products:

1 x 1 degree daily, gridded rainfall products:

*This is traditionally a Unix format, but most PC and Mac compression utilities should be able to decode it as well.
