Current Weather
Seeding operations are restricted to areas which have a potential for the
devlopment of rain showers and/or thunderstorms. Conditions favorable for shower/thunderstorm
development include high relative humidities, instability in the atmosphere, and a triggering mechanism.
Some common triggering mechanisms are fronts, dry lines, upper-level disturbances, or even just daytime
heating. Seeding is not performed over counties which have flash flood or tornado warnings issued by the National Weather Service.
